Mentor

Southwest Key's Youth Mentoring Program is currently seeking adult mentors for juvenile justice system-involved youth in Austin, Texas and San Jose, California. We are connecting them with positive adults to help them realize their full potential and show them that delinquent activity is not a productive lifestyle. If you are interested in serving as a mentor, please fill out the Volunteer Application and Background Inquiry Agreement below and submit them to cabrego@swkey.org (Austin area) or adam.gonzales@swkey.org (San Jose area). We will get back to you as soon as we can. Thank you!

Criteria for Mentors:

• Commit to 1 hour per week (or 4 hours per month) in the Austin, TX or San Jose, CA area
• Commit to 6-12 months to building a lasting relationship
• Commit to an 8-hour initial training as well as 1 hour quarterly support training
• Commit to being a positive role model to a youth affected by the juvenile justice system
