Workforce Solutions Cameron Honored at Texas Workforce Conference
Workforce Solutions Cameron was honored at the 2015 Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) State Conference on November 18-20 in Dallas for outstanding board performance—receiving $100,000 for the Youth Inspiration and Career Awareness Award. This inaugural award focuses on career awareness and exploration for young adults.
Cameron also received a $30,000 Performance Incentive Award for Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Dislocated Worker Training-Related Employment, TWC Performance Incentive awards recognize boards that display increased accountability and improved efficiencies. Monetary awards for achievement in these categories will be used to enhance workforce service programs during the fiscal year 2016.
WFS Cameron was also honored for earning second place among all 28 State workforce boards with the WIA Exemplary Performance Recognition Award given for meeting or exceeding all TWC program and financial performance measures throughout the 2014-15 program year.
Mr. Ron Rogers, WFS Cameron Board member from San Benito, was also recognized by TWC officials for his 19 consecutive years of service as a Cameron board member.
Bechtel Construction Services (Bechtel) was also honored at the event, receiving the Employer Award of Excellence for the Workforce Solutions Cameron area. This award honors private sector employers that are actively involved with Texas Workforce Solutions and have made a positive impact on employers, workers and the community. Bechtel is one of the most respected engineering, construction and project management companies in the world and is considered to be a cornerstone of innovation in the industry.

Hughs. "l am pleased to recognize Bechtel Construction Services and Workforce Solutions Cameron for their leadership and the extraordinary work they are doing in their communities."
