This just in: The former Mayor of Austin, the Honorable Gus Garcia, will be our featured guest to start our races this year!

Our certified (TX02003JF) 10K race course features rolling hills on city roads in historic East Austin a half-mile from downtown. The 10K presents a good opportunity to compete for age group awards and win!

2007 Sponsors

Our Fiesta 5K Fun Run is a measured race (~3.3 miles) and uses parts of our competitive 10K course highlighting even more great parts of East Austin. Runners, walkers and strollers are welcome, but please no dogs.

Both races start and finish at the Plaza Saltillo, a beautiful light rail train stop with a fountain, an arbor and stage for entertainment. The courses travel through East Austin, one-half mile from downtown Austin through a diverse community including old neighborhoods, and eclectic mix of retail and restaurant businesses, historic landmarks and Town Lake, a downtown green space which is the most popular running location in Austin. Come see unique and cool highlights of East Austin such as Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Kealing Park and Pool, Boggy Creek Greenbelt, Huston-Tillotson College and Town Lake.

This year we have added more road closures at the 10K / 5K intersection to ease crowding. And even more water at each stop and at the finish line. Click here for a racer information guide to learn more about the route.

You can register online here or download our registration form here and sending it to our offices (address on form).

Go for the Gold Born to Run program information

We expect 400 East Austin youth scholarship recipients partcipating in our 2007 event. Most have never run a race before, let alone accomplish such an important and difficult goal of finishing a 10K or a 5K. Click on the title above to learn how you can support these young runners in not only improving their fitness but their lives, too.
